Sixth Grade Students Help Promote Their School's Anti-bullying Initiatives

BRIDGIT SCHOOLS: We love seeing teachers and students take it upon themselves to push forward the trend to end bullying! Our partner school, IS228 - David A. Boody, combines creativity and positive messaging into their classroom activities. Sixth grade students were asked to design anti-bullying posters in their Advertising Magnet class to build awareness around bullying prevention using Bridgit's confidential reporting feature.

We know that 1 in 5 middle and high school students are bullied in school each year and many more students do not feel safe reporting when they are being bullied. We also know that it is essential for students to feel safe in their school community in order to thrive academically, socially and emotionally. Bridgit gives students a voice and a safe channel of communication to let adults know when they are being bullied or have witnessed bullying. Bridgit encourages students to have each other's backs and helps build a culture built on trust and kindness.

We want to thank the students at IS228 for reminding us all that we have the choice to be part of the solution, not the problem. We all have it in ourselves to be courageous, resilient and kind and together we can build stronger and safer school communities. These are the leaders of tomorrow!
